Slow Cooker Butter Chicken 

Serves 4 | 443 calories and 32.2g protein per serving 

This is my Creamy Slow Cooker Butter Chicken, the takeaway classic but with half the calories. This is the perfect Friday night fakeaway dinner to impress any friends or family with, lets go: 


Ingredients: 

  • 1 onion 
  • 600g chicken thighs 
  • 1 tbsp ginger 
  • 1 tbsp garlic 
  • 3 tbsp butter (60g) 
  • 1 tbsp garam masala 
  • 1 tbsp curry powder 
  • 1 tbsp chilli powder 
  • 1 tsp paprika 
  • 1 tsp turmeric 
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon 
  • 2 tsp sugar 
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree  
  • 6 cardamon pods 
  • 400ml tinned tomatoes 
  • 100ml chicken stock 
  • 100ml single cream 

Garnish: (optional) 

  • Drizzle single cream 
  • Fresh coriander 
  • 1 tsp nigella seeds 

Method: 

  • Add all the ingredients to the slow cooker, mix together season well and cook for 3 hours on high or 4-5 on low. 
  • 20 minutes before serving add in the single cream. Garnish with a drizzle of cream, nigella seeds, fresh coriander, and tuck in. Enjoy!
