Slow Cooker Lamb Rogan Josh Recipe

This is my tender Slow Cooker Lamb Rogan Josh, this recipe could rival any local takeaway version its that good, a must try literally! Lets go: 


Ingredients:

  • 600g lamb leg or neck 
  • 1 tbsp cornflour 
  • 1 tsp olive oil 
  • 1 onion chopped 
  • 4 garlic cloves minced 
  • 1 tbsp ginger minced
  • 4 cardamom pods 
  • 2 red chillies (3rd if you like the heat) 
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree 
  • 400g tinned tomatoes
  • 2 tsp garam masala 
  • 1 tsp ground cumin 
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder 
  • 3 tbsp rogan josh curry paste (available at Tesco and Sainsbury’s)
  • 75ml beef stock or lamb stock (from a cube is fine) 
  • Handful fresh coriander 
  • 50g natural yoghurt 

Method: 

  • On a medium heat add 1 tsp of olive to a pan and brown off the lamb with 1 tbsp cornflour. 
  • All the browned off lamb to the slow cooker along with the rest of the ingredients, cook for 4 hours on a high or 8 hours on a low. 
  • 10 minutes before serving add the yoghurt and let that cook through then you’re ready to eat. Serve with fully white rice, poppadoms, pickles and a cold beer, enjoy.
